We are so thrilled that you have decided to publish with KW Sentro’s community magazine. We feel so strongly that your Filipino diasporic experience will only add to the rich tapestry that is Filipino-Canadian research and literature.
We welcome works in a variety of formats. Please see the following guidelines as exactly that, guidelines. We want to work with you to produce a work that effectively amplifies and highlights your voice.
Conventional article: Approximately 750-1000 words. Length can be discussed to fit your needs. Can be shorter or longer. These are meant to be peer-reviewed articles. For more accessible pieces of writing, refer to Journal Reflection.
Journal reflection: These are freer pieces of writing that allow writers from a range of academic and community-based backgrounds to share their thoughts and lived experiences with our community.
Podcast/Audio or Video Interview: Must be produced at a high-quality level. Length can vary, however, typically 10 minutes to 1 hour.
Visual art/Poetry/Spoken Word: Writers and artists of all ages are welcome. The medium can be photo, audio, or video.
Recorded Artistic Performance: You can play the guitar and sing, dance, do spoken word, or any performance medium that you specialize in. Must be produced at a high-quality level.
